After Recession You'll Need Growth Plans For Your Franchise - The Time to Plan is Now

We've all heard the quote; "tough times don't last, but tough people do!" And yet, often we find folks in the franchising industry, the greatest business model ever created in the history of mankind do nothing more than complain and use the recession as an excuse not to meet earnings or maintain a profit. No not all the folks in the franchising industry are so into the doom and gloom, but it bothers me the numbers that are.

You see, recessions come and go, they never last, and after you've been through 2-3 cycles in business you can see the writing on the walls, and the future recovery. It is for this reason that I'd sure like to remind the franchising-sector that it's time to start strategically planning your next moves, because as the economic recovery gets into full-swing, it will be like the biggest wave of the day. As a surfer, you'd sure not want to miss it; it's time to start paddling because here it comes.

The best time to get a low lease rate, or negotiate for property is at the bottom of the market, not the top. The best time to expand is before your business is so slammed with customers that you cannot breathe. As a founder of a franchise company, I can tell you this, there is "always" opportunity in chaos. So look around you, start making plans, and then ride the next business cycle wave to the top. Please consider all this and start planning now.
